OutZone Fridays | OutZone At The Movies…(Sort of).

Film night at OutZone. No decision as to what we’ll watch, just yet – but one thing is for certain – there will be popcorn (and possibly ice-cream…) It could get messy. ;-)

Friday 20th August
PACE Youth Network - Summer Garden Party and BBQ

Yay! As summer continues, join PACE Youth Network for our Summer Garden Party and BBQ. Hot dogs, burgers, coleslaw and salad (with veggie alternatives) will be on the menu. Soft drinks will also be provided. 7.00pm at OutZone HQ. Note: This is a booze free event - No alcohol.

Tonight’s workshop will focus on creating our top tips to keep us emotionally healthy. We’ll take a closer look at the day to day issues that can impact on our emotional health and share strategies and techniques to help reduce the effects. An interactive, group work and discussion-based, look at emotional health issues for gay and bisexual young men. (Information/handouts - Suitable for those aged 16*+)

OutZone Fridays | New Members Night | I'm an OutZone Peer Mentor and I'm here to recruit you...maybe?

Come and help welcome any newbies that choose tonight to join us here at OutZone. Also, OutZone peer mentors could well be trying to sign up some new recruits for our peer mentor training course to help swell their diminishing ranks (in response to members requests). Haringey, Enfield, Islington, Camden, Barnet residents especially welcomed to apply. More details coming soon.

Also: Foundation 66: Amanda will be around tonight to offer drop-in confidential* one2one support and advice around drug and alcohol use. *Subject to our confidentiality policy and legal obligations.

Chlamydia screening workshop led by Terry from Brook - and it's probably time for your quarterly test again. It's free, it's quick, It's confidential. It's a real no-brainer — it saves you making an appt. and heading off to your local GUM clinic...

'Getting tested for Chlamydia at OutZone is basically a bit of wee and a minute or two of your time.' OutZone user - Aged 17.

Chlamydia is the most common bacterial sexually transmitted infection in the UK and is on the increase. Women aged 16-24 and men aged 20-34 are at the greatest risk. OutZone and Girl Diva have teamed up with Brook London to offer all group members FREE, confidential, chlamydia screening on a quarterly basis from the comfort of your favourite youth group. Get yourself tested regularly at OutZone - It's only a bit of wee and a minute or two of your time.

Tonight’s session aims to provide a supportive space to share our experiences and/or opinions around homophobic prejudice and discrimination, and poses the question: “What’s the best way to handle casual homophobia” — when you have to? A discussion-based look at discrimination and personal safety issues for gay and bisexual young men. (inc. Information/handouts)
