"Youth Network projects have been meeting the needs of lgbt young people in London since 1997"
Youth Network projects have been meeting the needs of lgbt young people in London since 1997 - when the OutZone Youth Project for gay and bisexual young men was created in response to local and governmental targets relating to HIV infection, mental ill health and suicide - All areas where lgbt young people are know to be at increased risk.
Over the last ten years, additional services for young women and lgbt under 18's have been developed (with the support of key partners and stakeholders) in order to meet the challenges of changing need and the increasing reliance on voluntary sector providers.
The main aims of our work are to:
"Coming out, sexual health concerns, parental or peer attitudes and homophobic prejudice are all issues we deal with a lot and can be quite distressing for some, so to make things easier, we provide extra one2one support outside of group times, if requested"
