OutZone Support Pages - Coming Out - Am I gay or bisexual?

Am I gay or bisexual?

Do you have:

  • strong feelings for other men?
  • feelings of deep friendship or love?
  • sexual feelings?

You might want to call yourself gay now. Or wait to see how you develop. If you have feelings for men and women you might want to call yourself bisexual. That's fine. It doesn't matter what you call yourself as long as you understand that being attracted to other men is perfectly OK.

You might be wondering why you have these feelings. It's nothing to do with how you were brought up. It's nothing to do with anything you've done - or didn't do. Or anything that anyone's done to you. It might be that people are just born gay or bisexual.

Lots of young people often have questions about their feelings towards their own sex, especially during adolescence and your teenage years. But only you'll know with time if having these feelings for other men will always be a part of your life.

If you realise you are gay or bisexual, then you're in good company. There are hundreds of thousands who are too. Black, White, Asian. Men of all races, religions and cultures, doing any job you can think of.

You may know yourself some famous actors, pop stars, sportsmen and politicians who are gay or bisexual - men who are happy, successful and proud of who they are. Check out our new OutZone Queer Icons page...

So you're not on your own. If there's anything you feel the need to talk to someone about, you can contact us for a one-to-one chat. You can be sure that you will talk to someone who'll understand. Click here for details on how to contact us.
